A kept secret story

A Secret History
By CARLA POWER

For Muslims and non-Muslims alike, the stock image of an Islamic scholar is a gray-bearded man. Women tend to be seen as the subjects of Islamic law rather than its shapers. And while some opportunities for religious education do exist for women — the prestigious Al-Azhar University in Cairo has a women's college, for example, and there are girls' madrasas and female study groups in mosques and private homes — cultural barriers prevent most women in the Islamic world from pursuing such studies. Recent findings by a scholar at the Oxford Center for Islamic Studies in Britain, however, may help lower those barriers and challenge prevalent notions of women's roles within Islamic society. Mohammad Akram Nadwi, a 43-year-old Sunni alim, or religious scholar, has rediscovered a long-lost tradition of Muslim women teaching the Koran, transmitting hadith (deeds and sayings of the Prophet Muhammad) and even making Islamic law as jurists.
Akram embarked eight years ago on a single-volume biographical dictionary of female hadith scholars, a project that took him trawling through biographical dictionaries, classical texts, madrasa chronicles and letters for relevant citations. "I thought I'd find maybe 20 or 30 women," he says.. To date, he has found 8,000 of them, dating back 1,400 years, and his dictionary now fills 40 volumes. It's so long that his usual publishers, in Damascus and Beirut, have balked at the project, though an English translation of his preface — itself almost 400 pages long — will come out in England this summer. (Akram has talked with Prince Turki al-Faisal, Saudi Arabia's former ambassador to the United States, about the possibility of publishing the entire work through his Riyadh-based foundation.)
The dictionary's diverse entries include a 10th-century Baghdad-born jurist who traveled through Syria and Egypt, teaching other women; a female scholar — or muhaddithat — in 12th-century Egypt whose male students marveled at her mastery of a "camel load" of texts; and a 15th-century woman who taught hadith at the Prophet's grave in Medina, one of the most important spots in Islam. One seventh-century Medina woman who reached the academic rank of jurist issued key fatwas on hajj rituals and commerce; another female jurist living in medieval Aleppo not only issued fatwas but also advised her far more famous husband on how to issue his.
Not all of these women scholars were previously unknown. Many Muslims acknowledge that Islam has its learned women, particularly in the field of hadith, starting with the Prophet's wife Aisha. And several Western academics have written on women's religious education. About a century ago, the Hungarian Orientalist Ignaz Goldziher estimated that about 15 percent of medieval hadith scholars were women. But Akram's dictionary is groundbreaking in its scope.
Indeed, read today, when many Muslim women still don't dare pray in mosques, let alone lecture leaders in them, Akram's entry for someone like Umm al-Darda, a prominent jurist in seventh-century Damascus, is startling. As a young woman, al-Darda used to sit with male scholars in the mosque, talking shop. "I've tried to worship Allah in every way," she wrote, "but I've never found a better one than sitting around, debating other scholars." She went on to teach hadith and fiqh, or law, at the mosque, and even lectured in the men's section; her students included the caliph of Damascus. She shocked her contemporaries by praying shoulder to shoulder with men —a nearly unknown practice, even now — and issuing a fatwa, still cited by modern scholars, that allowed women to pray in the same position as men.
It's after the 16th century that citations of women scholars dwindle. Some historians venture that this is because Islamic education grew more formal, excluding women as it became increasingly oriented toward establishing careers in the courts and mosques. (Strangely enough, Akram found that this kind of exclusion also helped women become better scholars. Because they didn't hold official posts, they had little reason to invent or embellish prophetic traditions.)
Akram's work has led to accusations that he is championing free mixing between men and women, but he says that is not so. He maintains that women students should sit at a discreet distance from their male classmates or co-worshipers, or be separated by a curtain. (The practice has parallels in Orthodox Judaism.) The Muslim women who taught men "are part of our history," he says. "It doesn't mean you have to follow them. It's up to people to decide.
"Neverthless, Akram says he hopes that uncovering past hadith scholars could help reform present-day Islamic culture. Many Muslims see historical precedents — particularly when they date back to the golden age of Muhammad — as blueprints for sound modern societies and look to scholars to evaluate and interpret those precedents. Muslim feminists like the Moroccan writer Fatima Mernissi and Kecia Ali, a professor at Boston University, have cast fresh light on women's roles in Islamic law and history, but their worldview — and their audiences — are largely Western or Westernized. Akram is a working alim, lecturing in mosques and universities and dispensing fatwas on issues like inheritance and divorce. "Here you've got a guy who's coming from the tradition, who knows the stuff and who's able to give us that level of detail which is missing in the self-proclaimed progressive Muslim writers," says James Piscatori, a professor of Islamic Studies at Oxford University.
The erosion of women's religious education in recent times, Akram says, reflects "decline in every aspect of Islam." Flabby leadership and a focus on politics rather than scholarship has left Muslims ignorant of their own history. Islam's current cultural insecurity has been bad for both its scholarship and its women, Akram says. "Our traditions have grown weak, and when people are weak, they grow cautious. When they're cautious, they don't give their women freedoms."
When Akram lectures, he dryly notes, women are more excited by this history than men. To persuade reluctant Muslims to educate their girls, Akram employs a potent debating strategy: he compares the status quo to the age of al jahiliya, the Arabic term for the barbaric state of pre-Islamic Arabia. Barring Muslim women from education and religious authority, Akram argues, is akin to the pre-Islamic custom of burying girls alive. "I tell people, `God has given girls qualities and potential,' " he says. "If they aren't allowed to develop them, if they aren't provided with opportunities to study and learn, it's basically a live burial."
When I spoke with him, Akram invoked a favorite poem, "Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard," Thomas Gray's 18th-century lament for dead English farmers. "Gray said that villagers could have been like Milton," if only they'd had the chance, Akram observes. "Muslim women are in the same situation. There could have been so many Miltons."

Michael Jackson Converts To Islam

American pop star Michael Jackson has officially announced that he has been following the five tenets of Islam and intends to convert to Islam, according to a report on the website of Arab-Israeli newspaper Panorama.The report is based on information elicited from sources in Bahrain.According to the report, Jackson’s announcement noted he is moving to Bahrain and has purchased some real-estate on an artificial island there. The singer said he decided to convert to Islam because he is convinced it is the closest religion to his personal beliefs.Jackson also noted he intends to soon move all his assets and his studio from the U.S. to Bahrain, and expressed his hope to be rid of various legal troubles and enjoy the kind of freedom he says he does not have in America.Notably, if the reports are correct Jackson would not be the first member of his family to make the move to Islam. His brother, Jermaine, who moved to the Gulf nation of Dubai, is also a convert.According to the sources, Jermaine was the one to provide his famous brother with books about Islam and encouraged him to convert. The report says the pop star read the books and even added his comments on some pages.

Belly

Al-Miqdam heard Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) say,

"A human being has not filled any vessel which is worse than a belly. Enough for
the son of Adam are some mouthfuls which can keep his back straight: but if
there is no escape he should fill it a third with food, a third with drink, and
leave a third empty."

honey...

A man came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said,

"My brother has some abdominal trouble." The Prophet (peace be upon him)
said to him "Let him drink honey."
The man came for the second
time and the Prophet (peace be upon him) said to him, "Let him drink
honey."
He came for the third time and the Prophet (peace be upon him)
said, "Let him drink honey."
He returned again and said, "I have done
that."
The Prophet (peace be upon him) then said, "Allah has
said the truth, but your brother's abdomen has told a lie. Let him drink honey."
So he made him drink honey and he was cured.

Ten Useless Matters...

Ten Useless Matters

There are ten useless matters:
1. Knowledge that is not acted on
2. The deed that has neither sincerity nor is based on following the righteous examples of others
3. Money that is hoarded, as the owner neither enjoys it during this life nor obtains any reward for it in the Hereafter
4. The heart that is empty of love and longing for Allah, and of seeking closeness to Him
5. A body that does not obey and serve Allah
6. Loving Allah without following His orders or seeking His pleasure
7. Time that is not spent in expiating sins or seizing opportunities to do good
8. A mind that thinks about useless matters
9. Serving those who do not bring you close to Allah, nor benefit you in your life
10. Hoping and fearing whoever is under the authority of Allah and in His hand; while he cannot bring any benefit or harm to himself, nor death, nor life; nor can he resurrect himself.
However the greater of these matters are wasting the heart and wasting time. Wasting the heart is done by preferring this worldly life over the Hereafter, and wasting time is done by having incessant hope. Destruction occurs by following one’s desires and having incessant hope, while all goodness is found in following the right path and preparing oneself to meet Allah.How strange it is that when a servant of Allah has a [worldly] problem, he seeks help of Allah, but he never asks Allah to cure his heart before it dies of ignorance, neglect, fulfilling one’s desires and being involved in innovations. Indeed, when the heart dies, he will never feel the significance or impact of his sins.

Hijab & Oppression

“Ever WONDER Why Do MOST Women’s Attires REVEAL More Than They CONCEAL / COVER Compared to Men’s Attires.
Reason – Women Have Much More Attractive Things to Show Off of Their Anatomy Than the Men.” - AB

Poem: On Hijab and Oppression
Author Unknown
You look at me and call me oppressed,
Simply because of the way I’m dressed,
You know me not for what’s inside,
You judge the clothing I wear with pride,
My body is not for your eyes to hold,
You must speak to my mind, not my feminine mould,
I’m an individual,
I’m no mans slave,
It’s Allah’s pleasure that I only crave,
I have a voice so I will be heard,
For in my heart I carry His word,
“O ye women, wrap close your cloak, so you won’t be bothered by ignorant folk”,
Man doesn’t tell me to dress this way,
It’s a law from God that I obey,
Oppressed is something I’m truly NOT,
For liberation is what I’ve got,
It was given to me many years ago,
With the right to prosper, the right to grow,
I can climb mountains or cross the seas,
Expand my mind in all degrees,
For God Himself gave us LIB-ER-TY,
When He sent Islãm, To You and Me!
The Elegance of the Modest
Womanby R. Stevenson (North York), The Toronto Star, January 23, 2002
While out for dinner last week with colleagues, we sat beside three 20-something women. There was the usual posing and glances exchange, and as they paid their bill two Muslim women entered and sat nearby. Whispers were quickly exchanged and we could hear, "Why do they wear those things anyway?" ... "I feel sorry for them" ... and so on. As they filed out of the restaurant, we noticed they sported a mixed collection of the following: skin tight pants, short skirts, exposed midriffs, push-up bras, high heels, jewelry, see-through or plunging tops, piercings, lipstick and makeup, and one had breast implants for certain. We observed the two Muslim women as they were engaged in close conversation over coffee. Their graceful features complimented their dark headscarves and warm eyes. Their natural gestures were flirty without even trying - revealing natural beauty. And their clothes, while conservative, brought forth the hidden potential of something wonderful and truly feminine. The idea of dressing modestly terrifies some western women - but why? Perhaps it would trample their "right" to show off. Would their self-esteem fall along with their hemlines? After some debates, we identified the cost of the western "right" to flaunt. The Muslim women were free from the fashion trap - free to "just be" without posing, comparing, dieting and spending for the approval of men and each other. And they looked more desirable to us than the exhibitionists who were in the restaurant and parading on the sidewalk. The sexual displays in our culture are so mainstream and competitive that modesty is seen as regressive. Yet, long term, when a man looks past the tight pants and heels, he will ultimately detect not confidence, but a certain unattractive desperation. Modest women don't have that desperation - they don't compete in the arena of vanity. They have themselves - and that's the kind of attraction with legs to last the long run. Remember that the next time you feel sorry for a Muslim woman

8 Things a Muslim can do to counteract Stress

1. Increase dhikr (remembrance of Allah): "Those who believe, and whosehearts find satisfaction in the remembrance of Allah: for without doubt inthe remembrance of Allah do hearts find satisfaction (Qur'an, 13:28)."

2. Increase prayers: "O you who believe! Seek assistance through patienceand prayer; surely, Allah is with the patient (Qur'an, 2:153)." Regardless of the type of meditation, recent studies have verified the physiological effects of meditation. Most of those mediations consist in focusing onsomething, repeating some words and breathing (Greenberg, p.142, 143).

3. Perform ablutions: The most important component of relaxation is what Hans Loehr calls "the rituals of success." These rituals may be as simple asmaking ablution; yet, they must be performed properly for it is not enoughto pass water on the body parts - those parts must be massed.

4. Ask for forgiveness: Even if a person has not done anything wrong, hemust insure the forgiveness of Allah. "Then I said, 'Ask forgiveness of yourLord; surely, He is the most Forgiving'" (Qur'an, 71:10).

5. Recite the Qur'an: The Prophet (Sallallahu alaiyhi wassallam) said, "...Qur'an is a remedy for illnesses of the mind" (Bukhari). "The echo of soundhas a medical effect and is now widely utilized," says Dr. Greenberg. "Therecitation of or listening to the Qur'an has an effect on the body, theheart and the mind! It is said that the letter Alif echoes to the heart andthe letter Ya' to the pineal gland in the brain." Dr Ahmed El Kadi of AkberClinic (Panama City, FL) conducted and published the effects of listening to Qur'anic recitation on physiological parameters (i.e., the heart, bloodpressure, and muscle tension), and reported improvement in all factors,irrespective of whether the listener was a Muslim or a non-Muslim, Arab ornon-Arab. Obviously, it can be postulated that those who understand andenjoy the recitation with a belief in it will get maximum benefits," writesDr Athar.

6. Make the hereafter one's main concern: "Whoever has the hereafter as hismain concern, Allah will fill his heart with a feeling of richness andindependence; he will be focused and feel content, and this world will cometo him in spite of it. Whoever has this world as his main concern, Allahwill cause him to feel constant fear of poverty; he will be distracted andunfocused, and he will have nothing of this world except what was alreadypredestined for him," said the Prophet (Sallallahu alaiyhi wassallam). Oneof the greatest causes of stress is money - how to pay the loans, whetherone's job will be lost, what will happen to the family if the father dies,etc.

7. Think positively: Muslims should forget about the bad things of the pastand think of good things, always having hope that he can be better. Tryingto change the past is a foolish and crazy waste of time, "for saying 'ifonly...'opens the way to Shaytan" said the Prophet (Sallallahu alaiyhiwassallam). The Prophet (Sallallahu alaiyhi wassallam) also said, " Knowthat victory (achievement) comes through patience, and that ease comesthrough hardship." Muslims understand that there's no reason for panic inthe case of crisis - no reason to be distressed or worried for we know thatafter hardship come ease!

8. Do not waste time on thoughts of fear or stress: "The search of time isone of the most frequent causes of stress" (Seyle, p.102). Laziness is themother of all evils, and the Prophet (Sallallahu alaiyhi wassallam) used toseek refuge in Allah from it. Understanding that this life is short and timeprecious, Muslims should try to work hard and pursue worthy knowledge(Munajjid).

Faith...

Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) said:

‘He who amongst you sees something abominable should modify it with the help of
his hand;
and if he has not strength enough to do that, then he should
do it with his tongue;
and if he has not strength enough to do even
that, then he should (at least abhor it) from his heart; and that is the least
of faith.”

Burkini Brings Muslims to Aussie beach

Burqini Brings Muslims to Aussie Beach
IslamOnline.net & News Agencies

With her burqini, Laalaa has been able to complete the training required to become a lifesaver.SYDNEY — A two-piece swimsuit with a head cover is not only allowing Muslim woman to go to the beaches while wearing modestly, but also join surf lifesaving, once a bastion of white Australian culture and still a heartland of the country's sun-bronzed, heroic self-myth.
"A lot of girls were missing out, a lot of women were missing out, on a lot of sporting activities, including swimming," designer Aheda Zanetti, a hijab-clad Australian of Lebanese origin, told Agence France-Presse (AFP) on Wednesday, January 17.
"There was nothing really suitable for them to wear if they wanted to participate in sport," she said.
"And if they did participate in sports with a veil, or whatever they wanted to wear, there really wasn't something suitable. The fabric was not right, the construction wasn't right."
Zanetti, a trained hairdresser, came with the idea of the light-weight burqini after she saw her hijab-clad niece play netball.
"And when I was looking at her playing sport with a two-piece veil and a skivvy (long-sleeved, high-necked shirt) and the pants and then her netball jersey on top and then her skirt, I thought, 'Oh my god, there must be something better than this'," she recalled.
The 39-year-old mother-of-four first created a crop top which incorporated a veil into a modest shirt but later moved into other sportswear items.
With the beaches full of girls wearing skimpy bikinis and revealing one-pieces, she saw a "hole in the market that needed to be filled" for more modest beachwear.
Zanetti came up with an idea of designing a head-to-ankle costume to allow women engage in whatever activities they want.
The burkini, derived from the words burqa (a head-to-ankle dress) and bikini, is made from ultraviolet- and water-protected polyester.
It covers the whole body except for the feet, hands and face.
The full-length lycra suit is not too figure hugging to embarrass, but is tight enough to allow its wearer to swim freely, according to Reuters.
Zanetti's Ahiida company in Sydney's Punchbowl now receives hundreds of requests from around the country and overseas for the quick-drying burqinis which cost between 160 and 200 Australian dollars (125 to 156 US dollars).
Lifesavers
Twenty-year-old Mecca Laalaa would not have trained to become a surf lifesaver were it not for the burkini.
"My clothing and what I wear swimming stopped me from being involved in water activities," she told AFP.
"It didn't stop me from playing sport. I would wear long pants and a cotton shirt, it just drained me so much more. I became very easily flustered. It was more water activities -- I stopped for quite a long time swimming," Laalaa recalled.
With her burqini, she has been able to complete the training required to become a lifesaver.
"It is daunting but we are doing it for a good cause. Not only for our community but for ourselves also. I am doing it for everybody. It's pretty much just like, 'Look at me, I am just like everybody else, the only difference is what I wear'."
Laalaa is one of 24 young Australians of Arab heritage who recently signed up to a 10-week training course run by Surf Life Saving Australia.
As Surf Life Saving Australia celebrates its centenary in 2007, Zanetti is producing burqinis in red and yellow -- the colors of the iconic lifesavers.
The government has initiated a program to train more young Muslims to become volunteer surf lifesavers to patrol the country's beaches.
Australia was the scene of racial clashes between ethnic Lebanese Australians and white Australian youths at Sydney's Cronulla Beach in December 2005.
The riots prompted widespread debate about the extent of latent racism in this multi-ethnic nation.
Controversy
However, the new swimsuit has not been without controversy in Australia.
"I have had a death threat over my phone from (within) Australia: 'If you ever advertise in a newspaper again I will make sure that you're...,' Zanetti said.
But she insists that her beachwear is supported by the country's highest-profile Muslim scholar Sheikh Taj Aldin al-Hilali.
Zanetti proudly displays the certificate of approval for her products given to her by Hilali.
Yet, she recognized he does not speak for every Muslim.
"As a religious leader he is a very good leader. But as a spokesperson, on behalf of Australian Muslims, I don't think it's suitable for him to speak. That's not his job. But as a religious leader, he's excellent."
Hilali has sparked a controversy in Australia when he compared immodestly-dressed women to "uncovered meat".
Zanetti said no other Muslim scholars would give her formal approval for the burqini.
"Mind you, their wives bought them," she claims.

The Pencil...

The Pencil

The Pencil Maker took the pencil aside, just before putting him into the box. "There are 5 things you need to know," he told the pencil, "Before I send you out into the world. Always remember them and never forget, and you will become the best pencil you can be." "One: You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in Someone's hand.""Two: You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, but you'll need it to become a better pencil." "Three: You will be able to correct any mistakes you might make.""Four: The most important part of you will always be what's inside.""And Five: On every surface you are used on, you must leave your mark. No matter what the condition, you must continue to write." The pencil understood and promised to remember, and went into the box with purpose in its heart.
Now replacing the place of the pencil with you. Always remember them and never forget, and you will become the best person you can be.
One: You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in Allah's hand. And allow other human beings to access you for the many gifts you possess.
Two: You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, by going through various problems in life, but you'll need it to become a stronger person.
Three: You will be able to correct any mistakes you might make. Four: The most important part of you will always be what's on the inside.And Five: On every surface you walk through, you must leave your mark. No matter what the situation, you must continue to do your duties.
Allow this parable on the pencil to encourage you to know that you are a special person and only you can fulfill the purpose to which you were born to accomplish.Never allow yourself to get discouraged and think that your life is insignificant and cannot make a change.

Be Brothers...

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
“Beware of suspicion, for suspicion is the worst of false tales and do not look
for the others' faults, and do not do spying on one another, and do not practice
Najsh (to cheat), and do not be jealous of one another and do not hate one
another, and do not desert (stop talking to) one another. And O, Allah's
worshipers! Be brothers!"

why is pork forbidden in Islam?

Very interesting Question and commonly asked by even our own people!WHY IS PORK FORBIDDEN IN ISLAM?
Bob: Tell me why is it that a Muslim is very>>particular about the wordsHalaal and Haraam; what do they mean?Yunus: That >>which is permissible is termed Halaal and that which is notpermissible is >>termed Haraam and it is the Quran which draws the distinctionbetween the >>two.Bob: Can you give me an example?Yunus: Yes, Islam has prohibited blood >>of any type. You will agree that achemical analysis of blood shows that it >>contains an abundance of uric acid,a chemical substance which can be >>injurious to human health.Bob: You're right about the toxic nature of uric >>acid, in the humanbeing itis excreted as a waste product and in fact we >>are told that 98% of thebody's uric acid is extracted from the blood by >>the kidneys and removedthrough urination.Yunus: Now I think that you'll >>appreciate the special prescribed method ofanimal slaughter in Islam.Bob: >>What do you mean?Yunus: You see, the wielder of the knife, whilst taking >>the name of theAlmighty, makes an incision through the jugular veins, >>leaving all otherveins and organs intact.Bob: I see, this causes the death >>of the animal by a total loss of bloodfrom the! body, rather than an >>injury to any vital organ.
"Yunus: Yes, were the organs, example the >>heart, the liver, or the braincrippled or damaged, the animal could die >>immediately and its blood wouldcongeal in its veins and would eventually >>permeate the flesh. This impliesthat the animal flesh would be permeated >>and contaminated with uric acid andtherefore very poisonous; only today did our dietitians realize such athing.Bob: Again, while on the topic of >>food; Why do Muslims condemn the eating ofpork or ham or any foods related >>to pigs or swine.Yunus: Actually, apart from the Quran prohibiting the >>consumption of porkbacon (pig flesh); in fact the Bible too in Leviticus >>chapter 11,verse 8,regarding swine it says,"of their flesh (of the swine >>another name for pig)shall you not eat, and oftheir carcass you shall not >>touch; they are " unclean to you."Further, did you know that a pig cannot >>be slaughtered at the neck for itdoes not have a neck; that is according >>to its natural anatomy. A Muslimreasons that if the pig was to be >>slaughtered and fit for human consumptionthe Creator would have provided >>it with a neck.
."Nonetheless, all that aside, I am sure you are well >>informed about theharmful effects of the consumption of pork, in any form, >>be it pork chops,ham, bacon.Bob: The medical science finds that there is a >>risk for various diseases asthe pig is found to be a host for many >>parasites and potential diseases.Yunus: Yes, even apart from that, as we >>talked about uric acid content inthe blood, it is important to note that >>the pig's biochemistry excretes only2% of its total uric acid content, the >>remaining 98% remains as an integralpart of the body. "O Allah! Wash away my sins with the water of snow and hail"

A new scientific miracle

By Nadya Nayef Goneim

The head of chemistry Department

The Islamic private school of Al-Njah for girls

God says what means "Nor does he say (aught) of (his own) Desire.

It is no less than inspiration sent down to him "

Among the prophet's handed down invocations - narrated 'A'isha,the prophet used to say -"O Allah! Wash away my sins with the water of snow and hail, and cleanse my heart from all the sins as a white garment is cleansed from the filth " ( Ibn-Majah )

And in another text:"Aishah reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) used to make these supplications: "O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from the trial of Hell-Fire; and from the torment of Hell-Fire; and from the trial of the grave and torment of the grave; and from the evil of the trial of the affluence and from the evil of the trial of poverty and I seek refuge in Thee from the evil of the turmoil of the Dajjal. O Allah, wash away my sins with snow and hail water, purify my heart from the sins as is purified the white garment from the dirt, and keep away at a distance the sins from me as yawns the distance between the East and the West; O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from sloth, from senility, from sin, and from debt." Sahih Al-Bukhari(5900)

Though we always repeat this invocation ,yet we don’t know the scientific fact that is latent in its words. From among all the other liquids , God has made water the source of all the living things creation . God says in Holy Quran what means "And We made every living thing of water" (21:30). Water has a miraculous ability when it is used to clean and dissolve dirt . I will talk about some of the qualities of water ; water is composed of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom linked together by polar covalent bond , this polarity (resultant from the electro negativity between the atom of oxygen and the hydrogen atoms), gathers the molecules of water by the weak hydrogen bonds which give water unique different qualities that other similar-structure liquids do not have , and this makes some changes in its physical characteristics. These are : water boils at 100 degree and has high surface tension and many other characteristics that there is no room to mention them , the following figure shows the bonds of water molecules in its three states ( water – ice – water steam )

Water, which is chemically called the general solvent has a great ability to dissolve a lot of ionic substances because the polar molecules of water attack the crystal of the compound if it has the ionic quality , it isolates the attracted crystals inside the crystal lattice .And as a result a mutual attraction power between the polar molecules of water and the ions emerges , the attraction power between the ions prevail in the crystal , and as a result , the dissolved substances disperse among water molecules . As shown in figure (2)

This invocation likens the sins and faults to dirt which water cleans , so how the process of cleaning with water happens ? When stains and dirt cling to cloth , the attraction power between the cloth and dirt take place . water penetrates the stain and wet the cloth and because of the polar and the capillary quality of water ,it makes the dirt dissolve by isolating its ions from each other , so the inter-link power between the ions is weakened , especially if they are among the kinds that dissolve in water .

If stains are fats which don't dissolve in water , water breaks down in the form of balls that don't wet the surface of the texture because the adhesive forces between water and stains is less strong than that of the molecules of water . So it must be washed by water and soap . The soap solution lessen the surface tension of water , so the soap solution covers the fat stains and reacts with it forming fat emulsion and the attraction power between water and stain becomes stronger , so the dirt leaves the surface which has already been clung to, as shown in figure (3)

But the invocation has referred to another way of cleaning , it is by snow . So how can snow be a way of cleaning? As we know , when water freezes , it becomes snow at zero centigrade and the way in which the molecules connect with each other changes and became like benzene ring as shown in Figure (4)

There are some dirt such as wax or gum that can't be removed with water or soap because the power of adherence between these stains and cloth is very strong . On putting snow over these stains , the frigidity makes the molecules of this substance come close to each other and contracted , so the power of adherence between them and the cloth decreases with the result that they are disconnected and moved away . ( we can do this experiment at home ) Hail is formed at subzero centigrade , so in case of irremovable stains , hail will make the molecules of these dirt contract much more than the case with snow . This invocation likens the sins to dirt that should be washed with water , and that are irremovable with water , snow will remove it , and that are irremovable with snow , it can be removed with hail till no sin left .

In another Hadith , Narrated Abu Huraira , prophet Mohummed said "If there was a river at the door of anyone of you and he took a bath in it five times a day would you notice any dirt on him?" They said, "Not a trace of dirt would be left." The Prophet added, "That is the example of the five prayers with which Allah blots out (annuls) evil deeds." (Bukhari book)

And this is another evident that water is a means of washing dirt and sins . There are still a lot of Holy prophetic traditional sayings that talk about ablution and its importance of washing faults and sins . Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: Should I not suggest to you that by which Allah obliterates the sins and elevates the ranks (of a man). They (the hearers) said: Yes, Messenger of Allah. He said: Performing the ablution thoroughly despite odds, tranverside of more paces towards the mosque, and waiting for the next prayer after observing a prayer, and that is mindfulness. This Hadith shows that God annul sins with ablution water

Abu Huraira reported: Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: When a bondsman-a Muslim or a believer-washes his face (in course of ablution), every sin he contemplated with his eyes ,will be washed away from his face along with water, or with the last drop of water; when he washes his hands, every sin they wrought will be effaced from his hands with the water, or with the last drop of water; and when he washes his feet, every sin towards which his feet have walked will be washed away with the water or with the last drop of water with the result that he comes out pure from all sins

Uthman ibn Affan reported : The Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) said : He who perform ablution well, his sins will come out from his body, even coming out from under his nails.

Al-Shafy was characterized by physiognomy and clairvoyance to the extent that he used to see the sins fall down with every drop of the water of ablution . Glory and Praise Be to Allah , who taught this unlettered prophet this scientific fact .

We came to the great conclusion that water , snow and hail are physical cases of water that has great ability to remove the dirt and every case has s different mechanism in cleaning the dirt I invoke God to wash all of us with water , snow and hail

O YOU WHO SPREADS CORRUPTION IN THE LAND!

O YOU WHO SPREADS CORRUPTION IN THE LAND!
By Asma bint Shameem
Allaah says to the people:
Do not forget your share in this world. Do good, as Allah has been good to you, and do not corrupt in the land, Allah does not love those who corrupt. (Surah al-Qasas: 77) Yet, you spread corruption on Earth every where you go.You spread corruption by lying, slandering, sowing the seed of dissension between people. You are ready to believe the worst about your brother, without verifying it. You twist innocent actions and words, just to make your brother look bad.You do all that and more, much more.And, yet, you deny it. You think it is not you. You think it is others who are spreading corruption, but in fact, it is YOU. And when it is said to them: Make not mischief on the earth, they say: We are only peacemakers.Verily, they are the ones who make mischief, but they perceive not. [al-Baqarah :11-12] SO WHAT EXACTLY IS CORRUPTION?? It is corruption if you readily believe everything you hear!O you who have believed! If there comes to you a disobedient one with information, INVESTIGATE, lest you harm a people out of ignorance and become, over what you have done, regretful. (Al-Hujuraat: 6). It is corruption if you falsely accuse a Muslim without proof!Abu Dharr (ra - may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allaah (pbuh - peace be upon him) say: No man accuses another of an immoral deed or kufr (disbelief), but it will come back on him, if the person he accuses is not as he says he is. (Bukhari). It is corruption if you distort the truth!In a Sahih Hadith the Prophet (pbuh) said: man may utter a word without his being on a clear ground regarding it (i.e., without considering its being truthful or not or its being good or evil) which causes him to slip down into the Fire (in a depth) greater than the distance between east and west. It is corruption if you gossip and spread rumors!Woe to every slanderer and backbiter. (Surah al-Humazah:1) And obey not everyone who swears much, and is considered worthless. A slanderer going about with calumnies. (Al-Qalam: 10-11) The Prophet (pbuh) said: Whoever believes in Allaah and the Last Day, let him say something good or else remain silent. (Bukhaari, Muslim) It is corruption if you spread enmity between Muslims!Shall I not inform you of the wickedest among you? His companions said, Yes, O Messenger of Allaah! He said, They are those who go about gossiping and causing enmity among those who have love for each other. It is corruption if you insinuate Racism, WHEN THERE IS NONE!As for those who break the covenant of Allah after accepting it, who cut what He has commanded to be united and worked corruption in the land, a curse shall be laid on them, and they shall have an evil abode. (Surah ar-Raâd: 25) And cause not corruption upon the earth after its reformation. And invoke Him in fear and aspiration. Indeed, the mercy of Allaah is near to the doers of good. (Al-Aâraaf: 56). It is corruption when you backbite!..neither backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it. And fear Allaah. Verily, Allaah is the One Who accepts repentance, Most Merciful.[al- Hujuraat :12] It is corruption when you harbor envy in your heart!Iman (faith) and hasad (envy) do not gather together in the heart of a slave [of Allah]. (al-Nasai- sahih) It is corruption when you don't stand up for the truth and SUPPORT the truth!(They are) swaying between this and that, belonging neither to these nor to those; and he whom Allaah sends astray, you will not find for him a way (to Islam)[al-Nisaa' e:143) It is corruption when you are pleased that your brother is dishonored:If good befalls you (O Muhammad), it grieves them, but if a calamity overtakes you, they say: We took our precaution beforehand and they turn away rejoicing [al-Tawbah:50] "If one of you defends the honor of his brother, Allaah the Almighty, will keep the hellfire away from his face in the Hereafter." (Muslim). Read these ayaat carefully and see if they apply to you.Do you realize that these are signs of a hypocrite!!The hypocrites, men and women, are one from another; they enjoin (on the people) Al-Munkar (all that Islam has forbidden), and forbid (people) from Al-Maâroof (all that Islam orders one to do), and they close their hands (from spending in Allaah's Cause). They have forgotten Allaah, so He has forgotten them. Verily, the hypocrites are the Faasiqoon (rebellious, disobedient to Allaah)[al-Tawbah: 67] When will you learn?When will you realize that it is YOU that is causing the corruption?When will it dawn on you that YOU ARE THE CULPRIT??!!!If you ask them (about this), they declare:We were only talking idly and joking. Say: Was it at Allaah, and His Ayaat and His Messenger that you were mocking?Make no excuse; you disbelieved after you had believed. [al-Tawbah:65- 66] Shape up NOW before it is too late.For you have been WARNED. Allah does not love those who corrupt. (Surah al-Maidah: 64)

The Way To Achieve Happiness

The Way to achieve Happiness

It is the nature of every person to seek happiness. Some people strive to seek material happiness in this world away from religion, thinking that this is the true happiness.

But this kind of happiness will be succeeded by pain and sorrow at the Day of Judgment, and its people will know that their striving led them only to misery and not happiness.

While others know that the true way to happiness is to obey God and follow His religion. For them the pleasures and riches of the world are of little consequence.

When this happiness penetrates and fills the heart of the believer he does in fact live in this world as if he were in Paradise.

Those are the people who find true happiness in this world.
What kind of happiness could be greater than that of someone who humbles himself to God, worships Him, strives for His pleasure, and strives to enter Paradise and have salvation from Hellfire?
The believer lives with such a sweetness in his heart that if the masters of the earth knew of it, they would fight him to death to take it from him.

Allah has said:
Whoever does right, whether male or female, and is a believer, We will make him live a good life, and We will award them their reward for the best of what they used to do. (Quran, 16:97)
Happiness is in the good life mentioned in this verse, that even the rich disbelievers cannot find, despite the money they have.

That is why we are not surprise when we know that many among them committed suicide.
To reach true happiness, we need to know what is the purpose of our life, how to reach success in the hereafter, and to fulfill the requirements of reaching this success by following the commands of Allah and His true religion.
We know much about Mars, Earth, moon, stars, and galaxies, thanks to the century of knowledge. But how much we know about our eternal life after death and how to reach success in the hereafter?
People need to eat every day to supply their bodies with energy and to keep themselves healthy. If they stop eating for a period of time, diseases will sneak up upon them and overtake them, and perhaps even kill them. Similarly, people also need food of another kind, food for the spirit and heart. It is unfortunate that while people are careful never to forget to feed their bodies, they do not show the same concern for the health of their souls and hearts. The heart needs food as the body does. The diseases of the body and the debilitating effects they have are not more dangerous than the diseases of the heart and soul.

Life

OUR LIFE TIME IS ABOUT TO OVER SOON

Allah (swt) does not require an accident or a reason to call us back. Allah can call us any time and ask us what did we do with the life we were given? Many researchers have shown that any person can die anywhere without any good reason. For instance, a special nerve in our brain can burst any time for absolutely no reason. All those who have ever been a victim of earthquakes never imagined that an earthquake was about to strike them. Everyone of us is standing in the mouth of death ready to become her pray any time. If this moment is our end, can we be sure that we followed the Holy Quran & true teaching of Prophet (pbuh) (without shirk/bidaah) and our deeds are good enough to earn us the Paradise (Jannah)? If Allah calls us now, and asks us about our life, and what we did with it, we will surely be ashamed in front of Him. But consider another possibility. Suppose we ask Him to give us another chance (which is not possible) and He gives it to us, imagine what will we do!
Our second chance starts………
Now……………………………………….
May Allah guide us true path........ ......... ......... ..

hadith...

“All of you are guardians and responsible for those in your wards! The ruler is
the guardian of his subjects and is responsible for them, a man is the guardian
of his family and is responsible for them, a woman is the guardian of her
husband's house and is responsible for it, a servant is the guardian of his
master's belongings and is responsible for them.”

The above quotation was said by Prophet Muhammed (Peace be upon him) quoted from Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 2.18 Narrated by Ibn Umar.

Hadith...

1560. Abu Dharr reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah saying,
"When any Muslim accuses another Muslim of sin or of disbelief, the reproach
rebounds upon the one who utters it, if the other person is not deserving of
it.''
[Al-Bukhari]

Commentary: What this Hadith stresses is that one should never say about a Muslim that he is sinful (Fasiq) or disbeliever (Kafir) when he is not so. The reason is that in that case, one who says it, will be held Fasiq or Kafir. One should, therefore, strictly refrain from uttering such statements.

Winners & Losers

The Winner is always part of the answer;

The Loser is always part of the problem.

The Winner always has a program;

The Loser always has an excuse.

The Winner says,"Let me do it for you;"

The Loser says;" That is not my job."

The Winner sees an answer for every problem;

The Loser sees a problem for every answer.

The Winner says," It may be difficult but it is possible";

The Loser says,"It may be possible but it is too difficult."

When a Winner makes a mistake, he says," I was wrong";

When a Loser makes a mistake, he says," It wasn't my fault."

A Winner makes commitments;

A Loser makes promises.

Winners have dreams;

Losers have schemes.

Winners say," I must do something";

Losers say, "Something must be done."

Winners are a part of the team;

Losers are apart from the team.

Winners see the gain;

Losers see the pain.

Winners see possibilities;

Losers see problems.

Winners believe in win/win;

Losers believe for them to win someone has to lose.

Winners see the potential;

Losers see the past.

Winners are like a thermostat;

Losers are like thermometers.

Winners choose what they say;

Losers say what they choose.

Winners use hard arguments but soft words;

Losers use soft arguments but hard words.

Winners stand firm on values but compromise on petty things;

Losers stand firm on petty things but compromise on values.

Winners follow the philosophy of empathy: "Don't do to others what you would not want them to do to you";

Losers follow the philosophy, "Do it to others before they do it to you."

Winners make it happen;

Losers let it happen.

Wailing over the dead

Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “The deceased is tortured for the wailing of the living ones over him”
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 2.380 Narrated by Shuba

Epic Bicycle Hajj IslamOnline.net & News Agencies

Magomed-Ali criss-crossed 13 countries on his rusting bicycle, braving scorpions, snakes and hostile US soldiers. (Reuters)
URUS-MARTAN - Seeking the greatest spiritual experience in a Muslim's life, a 63-year-old Chechen criss-crossed 13 countries on his rusting bicycle to join nearly three million Muslims from across the world in performing hajj.
"I was only afraid, and am afraid, of God -- and that I might not reach my goal," Dzhanar-Aliyev Magomed-Ali told Agence France Presse (AFP) on Monday, January 29, after retuning home from the spiritual trip.
Magomed-Ali finished a 10-week trip on his old bike from Urus-Martan, a small village in Chechnya, to the holy city of Makkah in Saudi Arabia.
The distance between the capital Grozny and Makkah is nearly 5,000 kilometers but the aging Chechen clocked up nearly 12,000 kilometers in his circuitous route.
He said the inspiration came from his mother who visited him in a dream. "She told me... 'You should do the hajj Magomed-Ali,'" he recalled. "And when I asked her how I was supposed to do it she answered 'You've got a bicycle. Go on that and I'll help you along the way.'"
One of the five pillars of Islam, hajj consists of several ceremonies, which are meant to symbolize the essential concepts of the Islamic faith, and to commemorate the trials of Prophet Abraham and his family.
Every able-bodied adult Muslim -- who can financially afford the trip -- must perform hajj once in their lifetime. Incredible Journey Determined to make the journey, Magomed-Ali took the precaution of training for his tough road, taking short cycle-rides around Chechnya's war-ravaged landscape.
The elderly Chechen also equipped himself with 11 spare bicycle chains and six replacement inner tubes for his bicycle. He recalled the unprecedented route he made through 13 states on his mud-splattered "iron horse" as he calls his old bicycle.
He left his village on November 8 heading to neighboring Azerbaijan, where he camped outside the Saudi embassy hoping for a visa.
"The consulate's employees took me to be abnormal and couldn't understand how I planned to get to their country by bicycle,"
Mogomed-Ali told AFP, wearing his traditional sheepskin hat and woolen jumper. After 18 days of relentless efforts with the consulate officials, he gave up and headed south across the border into Iran.
But later came the hardest leg of his journey when he reached war-ravaged Iraq, where he faced a dilemma with the US soldiers.
"Because I hadn't got a visa, they broke my bicycle, smashed it against the ground and called me a Russian pig," Mogomed-Ali recalled.
"I told them I wasn't Russian but a Muslim and they seized my passport and pointed to the crosses on the cover." He was then forced to turn around and head back to Iran and around Iraq through Armenia and Georgia, down through Turkey, Syria and Jordan.
Finally, after further border wrangles, the Chechen faithful reaches Saudi Arabia to seek his cherished destination, Makkah.
In the holy city, Mogomed-Ali was well-received and offered prayers for his family and homeland, before turning round and heading back home.
Despite the hardships he encountered, the old Chechen is now counting his blessings. "I did the hajj in order to fulfill the will of my mother, who gave me life and taught me love for my homeland, which for me is priceless,"
Mogomed-Ali said, standing beside the bike adorned with the emblem of Chechen independence fighters. The small mountainous republic of Chechnya has been ravaged by conflict since 1994, with just three years of relative peace after the first Russian invasion of the region ended in August 1996 and the second began in October 1999.

The tears of Rasullulah SAW

Suddenly, there was a person said salaam. "May I come in?" he asked. But Fatimah did not allow him enter the room."I'm sorry, my father is ill," said Fatimah turned her body back and closed the door.She went back to her father who had opened his eyes and asked Fatimah, "Who was he, my daughter?"
"I don't know, my father. It was the first time for me to see him," Fatimah said gently.Then, Rasulullah looked at his daughter with trembled look, as if he wantedto reminisce about every part of her daughter's face."Know one thing! He is who erases the temporary pleasure; he is who separates the companionship in the world.
He is the death angel," said Rasulullah.
Fatimah bore the bomb of her cry. The death angel came toward him,
But Rasulullah asked why Jibril did not come along with him.Then, Jibril was called. Jibril was ready in the sky to welcome the soul of
Habibullah and the leader of the earth.
"O Jibril, explain me about my rights in front of ALLAH?" Rasulullah askedwith a weakest voice."The doors of sky has opened, the angels are waiting for your soul.""All jannats open widely waiting for you," Jibril said.
But, in fact, those all did not make Rasulullah relieved,
his eyes still full of worry.
"You are not happy to hear this news?" asked Jibril."Tell me about the destiny of my people in future?""Don't worry, o Rasul ALLAH . I heard ALLAH told me: 'I make jannat haram for every one, except the people of Muhammad are inside it," Jibril said.It became closer and closer, the time for Malaekat Izrail to do his work.
Slowly, Rasulullah's soul was pulled. It was seemed that the body of
Rasulullah was full of sweat; the nerves of his neck became tight."Jibril, how painful this sakaratul maut is!"
Rasulullah uttered a groan slowly. Fatimah closed her eyes, Ali sat besideher bow deeply and Jibril turned his face back."Am I repugnant to you that you turn your face back o Jibril?" Rasulullah asked to the Deliverer of Wahyu."Who is the one who could see the Habibullah in his sakaratul maut," Jibril said.Not for a while, Rasulullah uttered a groan because of unbearable pain."O ALLAH, how greatest is this sakaratul maut. Give me all these pains,don't to my people."
The body of Rasulullah became cold, his feet and chest did not move anymore.His lips vibrated as if he wanted to say something, Ali took his ear close to Rasulullah ."Uushiikum bis salati, wa maa malakat aimanuku - take care the salaat and take care the weak people among you."
Outside the room, there were cries shouted each other, sahabah held each other. Fatimah closed her face with her hands and, again, Ali took his ear to the prophet's mouth which became bluish.
"Ummatii, ummatii, ummatii?" - "My people, my people, my people."And the life of the noble man ended.
Could we love each other like him? Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammad wa baarikwa salim 'alaihi. How deep is Rasulullah's love to us.
Note:Send this to all your Muslim friends so that the awareness to love ALLAH and His Rasul appears as ALLAH and His Rasul love us - because - truly -the other loves, except it is only fana thing. Ameen...Don't worry if people hate you because there are many others who love andcare you in the earth. But be worried if ALLAH hates you because there is no other who loves and cares for you in akhirat

It takes courage
To refrain from gossip
When others delight in it,
To stand up for the absent person
Who is being abused.

It takes courage
To live honestly
Within your means,
And not dishonestly
On the means of others.

It takes courage
To be a REAL man or a TRUE woman,
To hold fast to your ideals
When it causes you
To be looked upon
As strange and peculiar.

It takes courage
To be talked about,
And remain silent,
When a word would justify you
In the eyes of others,
But which you dare not speak
Because it would injure another.

It takes courage
To refuse to do something
That is wrong
Although everyone else
May be doing it
With attitudes as carefree
As a summer song.

It takes courage
To live according
To your own convictions,
To deny yourself
What you cannot afford.
To love your neighbor
As yourself!

.... And unto thee have We revealed the Scripture with the truth, confirming whatever Scripture was before it, and a watcher over it. So judge between them by that which Allah hath revealed, and follow not their desires away from the truth which hath come unto thee. For each We have appointed a divine law and a traced-out way. Had Allah willed He could have made you one community. But that He may try you by that which He hath given you (He hath made you as ye are). So vie one with another in good works. Unto Allah ye will all return, and He will then inform you of that wherein ye differ....
